A check of the Index to Griffith’s Valuation, conducted between 1848–1864, listed the landowners below in Tawnaglass, Midfield Parish County Mayo during that period. Notice the spelling difference between Tawnaglass and the newer version of Tavnaglass. At some point in the 1800’s both Midfield (which was formally known as Brackloon Parish) and Kilconduff Parish’s merged to form a new parish of Swinford named after the town of Swinford, which was then joined in the early 1900’s by the parish of Meelick to form the presnt day parish.
